Instructions:
1

First, we recommend that you never buy a single comet goldfish. They do not like being alone and this is very hard for them. It's better to buy two or three to keep together.

2

To take care of a comet goldfish we recommend getting a large tank with plenty of space so they can move easily. Always buy one with a lid to avoid evaporation. In this kind of environment, your comet fish will be comfortable and last much longer.

3

The water temperature is very important in caring for a comet goldfish. It is best if you check the acidity, hardness and water temperature of the water before releasing them. The temperature should be an average of 16 degrees Celsius ( between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit).

On the other hand, the hardness of the water should be around a level between 6.5 and 7.5.Therefore, before just adding plain tap water to the tank, you should test the pH levels in it.

There are many devices that will help you measure these factors. Check the status of the water whenever you make changes in your aquarium.

4

As mentioned, the water temperature should not drop below 65 degrees Fahrenheit. If you cannot maintain this, buy a water heater because without these conditions, your comet fish will not survive.

5

It's important to have a filter in the aquarium where you keep your fish so the water is always clean and pure. We recommend having an external filter and changing the water once a week.

6

It's okay to decorate your aquarium, although it's best not to use real plants since the comet fish with nibble them. Use small, preferably round stones without sharp edges. You can also use gravel, but wash it well first. This will let them hide and give a special touch to the aquarium.

7

A specialty store will have the food comet goldfish need. Ask the specialist for instructions and they will help you, but remember that they are omnivorous fish.

Feed them mostly algae to avoid them getting a very common disease in comet goldifsh: bloat.
