Steps to follow:

The first step is to acquire a spacious cage for the canary. The location of the cage is very important, we must choose an area in which there is not too much sun or strong wind and where the canary is free to be reached by other animals. This is especially important if you decide to install it in the garden for example

The cage should be well secured to the wall to avoid the risk of it falling to the ground. Make sure that do not move or tilt the sides so the canary is safe when it jumps from one side to the other and is in no danger of injury

A very important aspect of canary care is cage cleaning, it must be prevalent but generally depends on how dirty your bird is, you should take care of this task at least once a week. Always place newspaper or absorbent paper towels on the floor of the cage thus droppings and dirt stay there and are much easier to remove when cleaning

The accessories are inside the cage should also be cleaned otherwise the animal could become ill, change the water every day to make it clean and fresh. Note that canaries are pretty sensitive so it is important to dedicate all the care they require

When night falls cover the canary cages with a blanket in this way will protect it from the cold and from some insect that can disturb its peace

The canary is normally feed with birdseed although you can also give it fruit such as apples. The daily portion of food is about a tablespoon however many owners tend refill the food and a few days when it's all gone repeat the process

Note that the plumage of these birds is very delicate you could consult your veterinarian about any kind of vitamins you can give the animal to make it healthier

It is desirable that such animals are accompanied, you decide whether to have a female male couple, two males etc, but try to have at least two so they will not feel alone

Many people do not usually bring these animals to medical consultation but it is worth doing at least once a year to ensure that all is well, if you've finally decided on this pet remember that it needs minimal care.
